The Film

The Project

Built in the Grind examines the physical and psychological routines that shape a competitive football culture. Through observational camerawork, compressed telephoto imagery, sideline detail, and environmental sound, the film captures moments of repetition, discipline, and collective momentum embedded within the Marion Wildcats program. Rather than focusing solely on gameplay, the project emphasizes preparation, atmosphere, and the visual language of effort.

Technical Notes

Shot using a hybrid sports-documentary approach combining stabilized movement, long-lens compression, and environmental audio layering. Editing prioritized rhythm, pacing, and physical continuity to reinforce the intensity of training sequences and sideline interactions. Color grading emphasized contrast, texture, and natural stadium lighting conditions.
